Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Company

At Heart Aerospace we develop the ES-30, a regional hybrid-electric airplane with a capacity of 30 passengers, an electric zero-emission range of 200 km and an extended hybrid range of 400 km. Heart is targeting type certification of the ES-30 by the end of the decade.

Responsibilities

• Exercise full ownership over the design, fabrication and test of novel flight components
• Lead the design of crucial subcomponents including gears, bearings, and seals
• Design, build and test components to environmental qualification standards such as DO-160G, MIL-STD-810, or similar
• Work with a cross-functional team developing electronic and software control systems
• Responsible for design, development, validation, and certification of components including flight control actuators, propulsion, landing gear, and ECS components

Requirements

• Bachelor's in mechanical engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or similar engineering discipline
• 5+ years of professional CAD experience (Senior) or 8+ years (Staff)
• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals including CAD, FEA/hand calcs, and fabrication
• Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or electromechanical systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with aerospace regulatory standards (FAA, EASA, DO-160G, MIL-STD-810)
• Experience with hand-calculation methods for preliminary and verification analysis
• Strong understanding of mechanical manufacturing and advanced GD&T
• Proven capability to take designs from concept through to production
