Mechanical Design Engineer - Embedded Systems

Odyssée Systèmes specializes in the design and manufacture of hardened embedded computers for demanding environments such as Defense, Aerospace, and Industry. We develop complete products designed to withstand extreme constraints including vibrations, shocks, thermal stress, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical parts for embedded computers
• Perform 3D modeling and drafting using Creo (PTC)
• Integrate severe environmental constraints such as sealing, conduction cooling, ventilation, and EMC shielding
• Define appropriate materials and treatments (aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, painting, silkscreening)
• Collaborate with project managers and electronics teams for rapid prototyping
• Participate in technical reviews and validation of mechanical solutions
• Contribute to the preparation of manufacturing and qualification files
• Communicate with suppliers and ensure follow-up
• Work with the production team for prototype integration
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and client requirements

Requirements

• Engineering degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• 5 to 10 years of experience in mechanical design, ideally in constrained environments
• Mastery of CAD tools and mechanical standards
• Knowledge of severe environmental constraints (EMC, vibrations, thermal)
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (sheet metal, machining, surface treatments, painting)
• Technical English proficiency
• Experience in thermal and/or fluid simulation is a plus
