Mechanical Design Drafter

Responsibilities

• Develop CAD models, drawing packages, and related documentation to support cryogenic systems
• Produce CAD models, assembly drawings, and layouts for complex electrical-optical assemblies
• Perform general design activities including requirements management, materials selection, and tolerance analyses
• Review drawings for accuracy, manufacturability, and conformance to project requirements
• Participate in the commissioning of cryostats and cryogenic systems

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, nuclear, or chemical engineering
• 3+ years of relevant mechanical design experience on large-scale systems
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials for vacuum and cryogenic applications
• Proficiency in drafting standards and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
• Experience with parametric solid modeling software such as Solidworks, PTC Creo, or Siemens NX
• Experience with PLM software and document management systems (Teamcenter, Windchill, or Agile)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working specifically with cryogenic systems
• Experience with ASME Boiler Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC Section III) and ASME Process Pipe Code (B31.3)
• Knowledge of fabrication methods including machining, welding, brazing, soldering, and forming
