Mechanical Compliance Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safe isolation standards across the Leven packaging site
• Ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, Diageo Global Technical Standards, and industry best practices such as HSG253
• Provide technical leadership across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic isolation
• Embed robust isolation processes into permit-to-work systems and maintenance practices
• Support audit actions, incident investigations, and compliance activities regarding DSEAR, PUWER, COMAH, and PSSR
• Coach and upskill operational and maintenance teams to ensure high-standard approaches to safe isolation

Requirements

• Experience as a time-served Mechanical, Process, or Multi-Skilled Engineer
• Proven background in manufacturing maintenance and safe isolation practices
• Strong understanding of hazardous energy control and isolation verification techniques
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and P&IDs
• Proficiency in using SAP or other CMMS platforms
• Working knowledge of core legislation including DSEAR, PUWER, COMAH, and PSSR

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in high-hazard environments
• Knowledge of functional safety systems
• Experience with complex shutdown planning
