About the role
Responsibilities
- Own supplier performance for assigned categories, including quality, delivery, cost, capacity, and continuous improvement
- Develop and execute category strategies to reduce supply risk and ensure continuity of supply
- Lead supplier business reviews and maintain strong relationships to drive accountability
- Partner with Demand Planning to align supplier readiness with short- and long-term forecasts
- Assess market dynamics to identify sourcing risks and cost optimization opportunities
- Lead sourcing initiatives to evaluate suppliers on cost, capability, quality, and commercial terms
- Optimize inventory and working capital through replenishment strategies and MOQ negotiation
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and supply agreements to support business objectives
- Support new product introductions by aligning sourcing strategy with product launch timelines
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Product teams to resolve supplier issues
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, commodity management, or category management
- Experience managing supplier relationships in a manufacturing, hardware, or operations-driven environment
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and suppliers at multiple levels
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting mechanical categories or related commodities
- Track record of driving measurable improvements in cost, quality, delivery, or inventory
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- APICS, ISM, PMP, or Six Sigma certification
