Mechanical BIM Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage the quality and accuracy of BIM information to ensure compliance with required standards and levels of detail
• Perform project setup and tag customization for modeling components including equipment, pipelines, valves, and instruments
• Edit catalog and specification databases, including the creation of new catalogs and specifications
• Model equipment, piping, structures, and cable trays using Plant 3D
• Develop 2D construction drawings, including views and sections derived from 3D models
• Extract Bills of Materials (BOM) for piping and structures and generate piping isometrics
• Resolve day-to-day project issues and coordinate between engineering disciplines to ensure efficient delivery

Requirements

• Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
• Proficiency in Plant 3D and Navisworks software
• Experience in project setup and 3D modeling
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to troubleshoot, guide, and train team members on BIM project development

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within the water industry
• Knowledge of Plant 3D PID or Bentley OpenPlant PID
• Familiarity with Bentley ProjectWise or BIM 360
• Experience with custom component creation
