Mechanical Assessor II

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site facility condition assessments evaluating mechanical and plumbing building systems
• Identify deficiencies in HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, cooling towers, chillers, and boilers
• Determine condition, remaining useful life, required costs, and remedial measures
• Provide technical identification and written narratives of deficiencies and recommendations
• Interview building operations and maintenance staff to determine building history and operations
• Lead and support junior Architectural Assessors on project teams
• Prepare project progress documentation for project manager review

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of related experience
• Experience with mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, and building equipment)
• Proficiency with AutoCAD
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to travel up to 40% for out-of-town assignments
• Physical ability to walk large areas, climb ladders, and walk on roof surfaces

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience in conducting facility condition assessments
• Experience assessing healthcare and educational institutions
• Prior cost estimating experience
• Experience with Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, and mobile device tools
