About the role

Responsibilities

  • Construct large steel switchboard structures and internal subassemblies using pre-fabricated metal parts (steel and copper)
  • Follow engineering schematics and electrical drawings to ensure accurate assembly
  • Mount and brace parts and subassemblies inside structures
  • Construct custom skids using power saws and nail guns
  • Utilize proper hardware and ensure correct torque and consistent fastening methods
  • Visually inspect parts and materials for conformance to quality standards and customer specifications
  • Identify and report design issues through correct channels
  • Modify, repair, or rework parts using various machines and power tools

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent additional experience
  • Minimum 12 months of experience in mechanical assembly using power tools
  • Proven experience using torque tools
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English effectively
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for prolonged periods
  • Ability to work in awkward postures, including bending, kneeling, and overhead reaching
  • Must reside within 80 KM of Milton, ON

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or a technical certificate in a mechanical trade
  • Experience using Outlook, ADP, Oracle, and Inventor
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing processes (Kanban, 5S+, MRB) and Six Sigma tools
