Mechanical Apprentice

Responsibilities

• Participate in a cooperative education program combining 60% on-the-job training with 40% technical classroom instruction
• Learn practical skills in pipefitting, millwrighting, and general maintenance
• Develop expertise in interpreting blueprints and creating isometric drawings of piping configurations
• Master basic welding principles, laser alignment, and the repair of mechanical assemblies
• Maintain a strong commitment to safety, health, and environmental standards in an industrial setting
• Perform physical tasks including walking, standing, climbing ladders, and working outdoors

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (must be on track to complete by June 2026)
• Enrolled in or planning to enroll in the Nashville State MTEC program
• Must be at least 18 years of age by March 1, 2026
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and use various hand tools
• Basic computer skills and ability to follow complex instructions
• Strong troubleshooting abilities and a professional work ethic
