Mechanical Antenna Designer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical antenna solutions and antenna test fixtures using SolidWorks and PDM
• Select and test various materials for antenna radomes and elements to meet product requirements
• Create detailed fabrication drawings and manage accurate Bills of Materials (BOM)
• Perform FEA and thermal simulations to optimize mechanical designs
• Write test plans and conduct physical testing to validate mechanical designs
• Troubleshoot technical issues throughout the entire product lifecycle
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including timelines and supplier negotiations

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles including stress, deflection, sealing, and tolerances
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver under pressure
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience conducting FEA or CFD simulations
• Experience working with antennas and RF test equipment
• Understanding of material selection and its effects on RF performance
