Mechanic Transport

Responsibilities

• Diagnose air brake, air ride, and lighting issues on various trailer types including aluminum, steel, dock height, and drop deck.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance services, DOT inspections, and brake adjustments following Federal DOT requirements.
• Create accurate work orders and input daily repair reports into SAP software.
• Communicate with drivers and plant managers to ensure adherence to maintenance policies.
• Use hand and power tools, cutting torches, and welding equipment to perform repairs.
• Drive company service trucks to perform road calls and mobile maintenance.
• Comply with all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Company policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of related mechanical experience or training.
• Must possess own tools up to 1 ¼”.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and climb; must be able to exert up to 50-100 pounds of force occasionally.
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (heat/cold) and loud environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• CDL Class A license.
• ASE certifications.
• Bi-lingual (Spanish) skills.
