Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance tasks and troubleshooting of packaging and production equipment, including extruders, dryers, conveyors, and high-speed packaging systems.
• Execute preventative and predictive maintenance programs to ensure facility reliability.
• Repair and rebuild mechanical systems, components, and equipment.
• Partner with operations teams to solve repetitive problems and provide training on mechanical components.
• Maintain various facility systems such as low pressure boilers, compressed air, HVAC, and water chillers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• One of the following: an Associate degree in a technical field, a completed apprenticeship, relevant military training, or 2+ years of hands-on maintenance experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work in diverse environments, including dusty, cold, or high heat and humidity conditions.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience within a food manufacturing facility.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.
• Experience with MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
• Knowledge of power transmission components such as belt drives, chain drives, bearings, motors, and gears.
• Experience operating drill presses, lathes, and Bridgeport-type mills.
• Experience with forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulated lifts.
