Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment systems including mechanical, electronic controls, air brakes, transmissions, and pneumatic systems
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil and hydraulic changes according to manufacturer recommendations
• Maintain inventory of parts and support supplies
• Maintain service records and prepare cost material estimates
• Overhaul and replace engines and rebuild components
• Conduct road testing on equipment
• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on intermodal shipping containers

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2–7 years of heavy equipment service, repair, and maintenance experience
• Proficiency with diagnostic testing, tuning equipment, and welding equipment
• Ability to read manuals and schematics
• Valid driver license
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug testing
• Ability to obtain U.S. Government Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential

Preferred Qualifications

• Diesel mechanic certification
• Ability to qualify as a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Radiation Worker II
• OSHA HAZWOPER worker qualification
