Mechanic II

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, service, and repair sewing and production equipment using blueprints and diagrams
• Perform weekly, monthly, and yearly preventative maintenance to ensure optimum equipment functioning
• Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment through observation, listening, and testing
• Repair or replace defective parts and identify necessary replacement components for ordering
• Report serious or repetitive equipment problems to the Supervisor or Manager
• Assist in establishing and communicating safety, housekeeping, and preventative maintenance guidelines
• Maintain a safe, organized, and clean working environment in compliance with OSHA regulations
• Act as an informal resource for Mechanic I associates and provide backup for facilities maintenance

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanic work, machine maintenance, or a related field
• Hands-on experience with electrical, hydraulic, and/or pneumatic systems
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and preventative maintenance programs
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and planning skills
• Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and communicate effectively with all levels of associates

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or a related field
• Experience working in a production environment
• Experience with PLC and/or robotics
