About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic diagnostics and repairs for the manufacturing of custom fire emergency vehicles.
- Diagnose, detect, and repair electrical issues on 12v/24v vehicle systems, including lights, sirens, and radios.
- Work from shop orders, schematics, prints, and diagrams to identify material requirements and perform repairs.
- Reassemble and test components to ensure they meet all applicable quality and safety standards.
- Identify root causes of operational malfunctions and coordinate resolutions.
- Operate a wide range of equipment and machine tools, including hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment.
- Participate in LEAN and continuous improvement activities to enhance product quality and safety.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED preferred.
- Strong math and blueprint reading skills.
- Computer literacy and ability to use operating systems.
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds frequently.
- Physical capability to stand for long periods, climb ladders, and work in various physical positions (stooping, kneeling, crouching).
- Ability to wear fall protection devices when working at heights.
