Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain, and diagnose industrial production and processing machinery or equipment
• Disassemble machinery to remove parts and reassemble equipment after inspections or repairs
• Observe and test equipment operation using voltmeters or other testing devices to diagnose malfunctions
• Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, or machinery
• Examine parts for defects such as breakage or excessive wear
• Study blueprints or manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation or operation
• Cut and weld metal to repair broken parts, fabricate new parts, or assemble new equipment
• Record repairs, maintenance performed, and materials used

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (or 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of education)
• 1+ years of experience in the industrial mechanic field
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Proficiency in welding and metal cutting skills
