Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced mechanical repairs and maintenance on Cooperative vehicles and equipment, including automotive, line construction, and right-of-way machinery.
• Maintain auxiliary mounted equipment such as hydraulic aerial lifts, derricks, chippers, saws, mowers, and trenchers.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle on-board computers and electronic performance equipment.
• Utilize various tools including welders, lathes, grinders, multimeters, and computer diagnostic tools safely and effectively.
• Maintain accurate records on shop tickets regarding parts used and labor performed for individual jobs.
• Adhere strictly to all Cooperative safety manuals and practices to ensure a safe work environment.
• Assist in emergency situations as required to benefit the Cooperative and its members.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Automotive service technologies certificate or equivalent from an accredited school (or two additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a certificate).
• At least two (2) years of experience in auto or truck repair.
• Valid Florida Class A commercial driver's license (CDL).
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and the ability to analyze data from electronic equipment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and fleet management software.
