Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain district vehicles including buses, cars, and vans to ensure continuous educational operations
- Diagnose simple and complex automotive problems, including electrical and fuel systems
- Rebuild engines and braking systems and inspect/replace drive train components
- Perform regular maintenance according to preventative schedules
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and conduct safety inspections
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and keep a clean, safe work environment
Requirements
- 3 years of vehicle maintenance experience
- Thorough knowledge of diesel and gas engine management, anti-lock brake systems, and emission control systems
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain an Ohio Class A CDL with school passenger endorsements within 6 months of appointment
- Must provide own hand tools
- Ability to lift at least 75 pounds and perform physical tasks such as climbing, standing, and bending for extended periods
- Ability to pass an Ohio Department of Education T8 physical and a background investigation
