Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel tractors, trailers, and other wheeled vehicles
• Perform routine scheduled maintenance and follow PM checklist sheets
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and electrical systems and circuitry
• Remove, inspect, and replace mechanical components such as alternators, starters, brakes, and transmissions
• Overhaul and rebuild serviceable components
• Ensure all shop repairs comply with OSHA, MSHA, and CEMEX safety regulations
• Maintain accurate work orders in the system for equipment inventory
• Perform occasional cutting and welding using gas or electric equipment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of related experience, training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Driver's License (Class A or B CDL preferred, or ability to obtain within 180 days)
• Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish
• TWIC certification or willingness to obtain
