About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist with diagnosing equipment failures under the supervision of a mechanic or supervisor
  • Repair heavy machinery including excavators, snow plows, graders, tandem trucks, and loaders
  • Support the department's preventative maintenance program
  • Work with various electronic controls and computer diagnostics

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a recognized Truck and Transport Repair program
  • Self-motivated attitude and ability to work effectively in a team
  • Effective problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced environments
  • Sound communication skills and a professional demeanor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Work experience in trades, such as the operation of heavy trucks and equipment
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety standards
  • Current First Aid and WHMIS certifications
