About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform repair and maintenance tasks including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work to support facility operations.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, lighting fixtures, switches, and receptacles.
- Install, repair, and replace plumbing fixtures such as faucets, drains, valves, and domestic water piping.
- Maintain and repair interior doors, hardware, cabinets, furniture, and shelving.
- Perform wall maintenance including patching, plastering, taping, and painting.
- Maintain accurate records of daily assignments and follow the work order process.
- Respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis and work overtime as required by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Three years of experience in trades and/or technical disciplines, or completion of an approved training program.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move heavier objects using assisted devices.
- Possession of all applicable licenses and permits.
- Ability to work near moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and electrical equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative communication skills.
