Mécanicien naval chaudronnier

Responsibilities

• Install, disassemble, modify, repair, and maintain propulsion engines, machines, and auxiliary equipment (winches, shafts, propellers, generators, rudders, etc.).
• Diagnose mechanical failures and perform necessary repairs or part replacements.
• Execute mechanical testing and fine-tuning, such as propeller breaking-in and engine alignment.
• Perform metalworking tasks including cutting, shaping, bending, and shearing steel plates (ranging from 3mm to 15mm).
• Fabricate parts by following technical plans, drawings, and models.
• Carry out temporary and final assembly of plates and profiles, including welding.
• Maintain a clean workspace and ensure all tools and equipment are properly adjusted and maintained.
• Strictly adhere to all safety procedures and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Requirements

• CAP, BEP, or Bac Pro in Naval Mechanics, Metalworking, or Industrial Metal Structures.
• 1 to 2 years of experience as a naval/fluvial mechanic or metalworker in ship construction.
• Electrical certification (Habilitation électrique).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in metrology.
• Ability to read and interpret technical plans and drawings.
