Meat Cutter

Responsibilities

• Accurately cut, trim, and yield meat according to specific cut tickets and customer requirements
• Pull raw materials and pre-cut inventory according to code dates and report short shelf-life items
• Properly label all products and equipment to comply with legal and safety regulations
• Maintain work areas in strict compliance with U.S.D.A. guidelines
• Clean, store, and maintain all assigned tools, including knives and scales
• Record necessary data to produce assigned cutting yield tests and maintain inventory levels
• Participate in company safety programs and report any unsafe conditions or accidents immediately

Requirements

• Prior experience with portion cutting meat
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and conversions for product sizes and amounts
• Ability to lift and maneuver 50-60 pounds regularly
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in the English language
• Ability to maintain color vision for quality inspection
• Ability to work in cold, wet, refrigerated processing and warehouse environments
