Measurement Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in the measurement discipline across all ExxonMobil business units.
• Deliver technical, execution, and operational support for upstream measurement and allocation systems.
• Ensure compliance with Company measurement practices and industry standards (API, GPA, AGA, ASTM).
• Assess measurement program integrity and accuracy through the collection and analysis of key performance indicators.
• Lead gain/loss investigations for pipelines, terminals, and production allocation.
• Support internal audits and perform field assessments of measurement practices to assess risk and exposure.
• Participate in industry committees to represent ExxonMobil's position on developing or revising standards.
• Lead measurement-related project scopes, from full field developments to brownfield metering modifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in hydrocarbon measurement or metering applications.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards including API, GPA, AGA, and ASTM.
• Experience with measurement surveillance and maintenance software (e.g., FlowCal, TESTit, or Muddy Boots).
• Proficiency in data cleaning, preparation, and analysis using SQL, Python, or PowerQuery.
• Experience with production accounting software (e.g., ProCount, Energy Components, or PRA).
• Understanding of allocation methods and custody transfer gas/liquid hydrocarbon flow measurement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the upstream oil and gas, petrochemical, or refining industry.
• Knowledge of MPFM, phase behavior, and oil and gas sampling (manual and automatic).
• Ability to use statistical analysis software such as JMP or Minitab.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools like Spotfire, Tableau, or PowerBI.
