About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver daily meals and wellness checks to senior citizens and eligible adults in a friendly and timely manner
- Pick up meals from the program site and assist with meal packing if requested
- Report safety, environmental, or social service needs of participants to a supervisor
- Maintain accurate route slips, timesheets, odometer sheets, and meal counts
- Clean and maintain food delivery equipment and ensure a sanitary vehicle environment
- Distribute and collect weekly donation envelopes for the program
- Adhere to all safety, food safety, and body mechanics protocols outlined in the Meals on Wheels Handbook
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency credential
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Reliable personal transportation with minimal insurance coverage per company policy
- Ability to physically lift coolers containing meals weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb stairs and wash coolers
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality
- Strong organizational skills to manage efficient route plans under time constraints
