Meals on Wheels Driver

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily meals and wellness checks to senior citizens and eligible adults in a friendly and timely manner
• Pick up meals from the program site and assist with meal packing if requested
• Report safety, environmental, or social service needs of participants to a supervisor
• Maintain accurate route slips, timesheets, odometer sheets, and meal counts
• Clean and maintain food delivery equipment and ensure a sanitary vehicle environment
• Distribute and collect weekly donation envelopes for the program
• Adhere to all safety, food safety, and body mechanics protocols outlined in the Meals on Wheels Handbook

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency credential
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
• Reliable personal transportation with minimal insurance coverage per company policy
• Ability to physically lift coolers containing meals weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to climb stairs and wash coolers
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality
• Strong organizational skills to manage efficient route plans under time constraints
