About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead field crews in performing major turbine component exchanges, including gearboxes, generators, blades, and hubs
  • Serve as the on-site lead responsible for safety, task allocation, and job flow
  • Execute heavy rigging, crane calling, generator alignments, and LOTO procedures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues across all turbine components
  • Train, coach, and mentor Level I–III technicians to maximize team performance
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and close-out details to site leadership and operations
  • Oversee tool readiness, work documentation, and compliance with OEM and company standards
  • Champion a strong safety culture and enforce all site protocols

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of wind turbine maintenance experience, specifically including major component exchanges
  • Prior experience in a crew leadership role (Lead Tech, Foreman, or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with OEM processes (GE, Siemens Gamesa, Vestas, or Nordex preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL-A with air brake endorsement is a plus)
  • Ability to travel extensively (up to 90% domestic travel, often 4–6 weeks at a time)
  • Ability to climb and work at heights of 300+ feet and work in various weather conditions
