Matriculation Counselor

Responsibilities

• Manage the enrollment funnel and onboarding process for adult learners, guiding new admits from admission through registration.
• Conduct initial intake sessions via in-person or Zoom meetings to facilitate a seamless transition into the university.
• Perform initial credit audits, reviewing major requirements and transfer potential to build first-term course schedules.
• Coordinate with the Registrar’s Office to verify transcript processing and official transfer credit evaluations.
• Execute New Student Orientation (NSO) components, including digital preparation courses and live sessions.
• Provide guidance regarding Financial Aid, Veteran Benefits, and institutional payment options.
• Track and analyze enrollment data to identify and mitigate barriers to registration and minimize pipeline melt.
• Supervise and train student workers assigned to front-end intake operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• 2+ years of professional experience in admissions, transcript evaluation, academic advising, or student services.
• Proficiency in CRM systems, specifically Slate.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate enrollment cycles.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse, non-traditional student populations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling, higher education, or a related field.
• Direct experience advising or onboarding post-traditional adult learners in an accelerated setting.
• Familiarity with online program management and digital student engagement tools.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
• Experience supporting veterans and active-duty military personnel.
