Mathematics Instructional Support Specialist

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate weekly recitation sessions to reinforce core mathematics course concepts
• Assist instructors with the design, proctoring, and grading of quizzes, exams, and other assessments
• Provide timely and constructive feedback on student assignments using established rubrics
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, participation, and grades
• Hold regular office hours to provide supplemental instruction and support student learning
• Coordinate with course instructors to ensure consistency across all recitation sections
• Assist with the organization of course materials and management of the learning management system (Canvas)
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to departmental service

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a related discipline
• Prior experience in teaching, tutoring, or academic support at the postsecondary level
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and support diverse learners
• Proficiency with learning management systems and digital grading tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred for supporting upper-level mathematics courses
