Math Tutor

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face and virtual tutorial assistance to students in mathematics subject areas
• Develop educational resources, conduct class visits, and facilitate workshops as requested
• Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and update the department database
• Prepare written and Excel reports regarding tutoring activities as assigned
• Assist in the training and mentoring of new professional and peer tutors
• Attend required training and professional development sessions to maintain competency
• Perform routine clerical tasks, including answering phones and greeting visitors

Requirements

• Ability to tutor at the 200-course level or above (unofficial transcripts required)
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Self-motivated with the ability to work a hybrid schedule of remote and onsite sessions
• Educational background in a directly related field of mathematics

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience using student database systems (e.g., Colleague)
• Experience working with underserved populations, including low-income or first-generation students
• TEFL or TESOL Certification
• Bilingual or Multilingual skills
