Math Instructor

Responsibilities

• Perform professional level instruction for GED preparation, TABE reading and math, and high school diploma programs
• Instruct social skills, employability skills, applied academics, and project-based learning
• Manage classroom environment and discipline to ensure effective learning
• Maintain accurate attendance records and student progress evaluations
• Develop and maintain relevant lesson plans
• Participate in weekly center team, departmental, and all-staff meetings
• Monitor student achievements and provide necessary accommodations
• Facilitate communication with center departments and assist with student retention

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university
• State teaching certification (or ability to pursue certification)
• Proficiency in mathematical concepts including probability and statistical inference
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Strong ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals
• Ability to present information effectively to students and peers
