Maternity Clinical Affiliated Instructor

Responsibilities

• Supervise student groups (typically 6 students) during clinical rotations in maternity nursing
• Provide clinical instruction and orientation to healthcare agency policies and procedures
• Lead pre-conferences to establish priorities and post-conferences to facilitate student reflection
• Develop patient care assignments that allow students to meet course objectives, including medication administration and skill mastery
• Evaluate and grade student performance using established rubrics
• Coordinate with clinical site clinicians to assign students to patients
• Maintain professional knowledge in obstetrics and neonatal nursing to ensure contemporary instruction
• Participate in faculty meetings and nursing program committees

Requirements

• Current MA RN license in good standing
• Minimum of an earned Master’s degree in Nursing or currently matriculated in a Master's in Nursing program
• Demonstrated clinical competence in the area of clinical instruction
• Evidence of ongoing professional development in academic and professional communities
