Materials Test Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical materials testing using electromechanical and servo-hydraulic test machines.
• Conduct calibrations of laboratory equipment in accordance with ISO 17025 standards.
• Operate MTS and Instron material test systems and assist in test method development.
• Apply ASTM and NASA standards to various engineering and scientific testing procedures.
• Communicate with customers and engineers to provide status updates on testing progress.
• Resolve operational problems regarding component interaction and recommend improved procedures or equipment modifications.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED, plus at least 5 years of relevant experience, OR an Associate’s Degree.
• Proven experience operating within a mechanical materials test laboratory.
• Hands-on experience with MTS and Instron material test system operation.
• Strong working knowledge of ASTM standards.
• Must be a US Citizen and possess a STAR ID.
