Materials Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform standardized laboratory tests on aggregates, cement, concrete, and related materials
• Assist with the development and execution of testing procedures for 3D printed cement-based materials
• Support internal quality control by fabricating test samples and recording data
• Prepare materials and equipment for experiments and carry out testing plans
• Maintain, clean, and calibrate laboratory tools and testing equipment
• Monitor laboratory supplies and track inventory
• Participate in safety procedures for laboratory and field environments
• Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs and working outdoors
• Transition between lab and field work as required

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in concrete, cement, or construction materials testing
• Basic understanding of lab procedures and materials handling
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to obtain ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification within 3 months of hire
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in outdoor or construction settings
• Proficiency in English

Preferred Qualifications

• ACI Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician certification
• Familiarity with ASTM test methods for concrete and mortar
• Experience working in a laboratory or on active construction sites
• Basic computer skills (Google Workspace or MS Office)
• Experience or interest in emerging construction technologies
