About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, and execute vulnerability assessments and operational testing and evaluation activities across a wide range of materials, including polymers and microelectronics.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, and program managers to develop technical solutions for national security challenges.
  • Build and cultivate strategic partnerships across multiple government agencies to enhance mission objectives.
  • Assemble and lead technical teams to address emerging problems based on customer requirements.
  • Communicate technical results, insights, and trade-offs effectively to stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of multiple technical projects simultaneously, requiring frequent context switching.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and scientific/engineering experience.
  • Active DOE Q-level and SCI security clearance or equivalent (e.g., DOD Top Secret/SCI).
  • US citizenship.
  • Ability to work onsite in Albuquerque, NM.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Materials Science or a highly related field involving independent research.
  • Experience in a research and development (R&D) environment.
  • Proficiency with materials characterization techniques.
  • Experience leading projects for U.S. government customers.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical work to external customers through briefings and reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply systems thinking to solve complex problems.
