Materials Planning Specialist

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Production Scheduler to support schedule adherence and flag inventory constraints
• Monitor raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory levels
• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits
• Coordinate with procurement for timely material purchasing
• Analyze inventory data and production metrics to identify trends and inefficiencies
• Maintain accurate records in ERP/MRP systems including BOMs and routings
• Communicate production status and capacity constraints to stakeholders
• Work with warehouse team on storage, labeling, and organization
• Support new product launches and material readiness
• Assist in developing inventory control policies
• Generate production and inventory reports for management

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or equivalent experience
• 3–5 years of experience in production planning or inventory control in manufacturing
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Infor)
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, BOMs, and supply chain principles
• Experience with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• APICS CPIM or CSCP designation (or in progress)
• Familiarity with demand forecasting and capacity planning
