Materials Manager

Responsibilities

• Own BOM accuracy and structure for transformer products in the ERP/MRP system
• Translate production schedules into materials requirements and supplier releases
• Manage engineering change (ECO) impact on inventory and open orders
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by securing long-lead components
• Build and maintain the master production schedule (MPS) for the transformer line
• Coordinate build schedules with fabricators and contract manufacturers
• Own inventory strategy including safety stock, buffer stock, and build-to-order decisions
• Manage lead times and allocation for long-lead items like core steel and copper/aluminum winding
• Identify and mitigate single-source, capacity, and geopolitical risks
• Manage tariff and trade compliance planning, including HTS classification and USMCA qualification
• Coordinate logistics and expediting decisions to mitigate schedule risks

Requirements

• 7+ years in materials management, production planning, or supply chain
• Experience in transformer, electrical equipment, or heavy industrial manufacturing
• Hands-on experience with BOM management, MRP/ERP systems, and master scheduling
• Experience managing long lead-time materials in a heavy electrical environment
• Working knowledge of tariff classification and trade compliance (Section 301/232, USMCA, HTS)
• Experience coordinating materials across multiple sites and offshore contract manufacturers
• Strong analytical skills for building inventory, capacity, and risk models
• Ability to read BOMs, drawings, and specifications
