About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide daily work direction to materials team members to meet departmental goals and production objectives
- Coordinate manpower, materials, and training to support efficient daily operations
- Promote a safe work environment and escalate safety, quality, or performance issues
- Train team members on safety protocols, quality standards, and standardized work procedures
- Allocate manpower effectively based on operational needs and production priorities
- Utilize computer systems for data access, documentation, and reporting
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, quality, and productivity
- Safely operate material handling equipment including forklifts, tuggers, and pallet jacks
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills with the ability to learn company systems
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to operate or learn material handling equipment safely
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and strong attendance
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing (automotive/trucking) environment
- Prior leadership or team lead experience
- Previous mechanical or materials handling experience
- Experience with Navision or hand/air tool gauges
