Materials and Procurement Engineer

Responsibilities

• Prepare project-specific procurement plans aligned with construction schedules and material forecasts
• Source qualified suppliers and subcontractors, obtaining and evaluating technical and commercial quotations
• Develop comparison sheets and support contract award recommendations
• Manage material submittals and follow up on consultant approval cycles to ensure compliance with specifications and BOQs
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and delivery conditions with vendors
• Coordinate with site teams to track material consumption and resolve delivery or quality issues
• Monitor supplier performance and track delivery schedules to prevent site delays

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil preferred) or Supply Chain
• 8–12 years of experience in procurement and materials management within the construction/contracting industry
• Proficiency in ERP or procurement systems
• Strong ability to prepare RFQs, comparison sheets, and technical evaluations
• Deep understanding of project specifications, BOQs, and technical drawings
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within the UAE construction market
• Background with tier one construction contractors in the UAE
• Experience specifically with building and villa compound projects
