Materials and Manufacturing Researcher

Responsibilities

• Conduct armor materials research for protection systems, including manned, unmanned, and Soldier protection systems
• Perform materials and concepts research for advanced weapon systems
• Execute materials and processing research at small and high deformation rates/scales
• Conduct multi-scale advanced materials modeling
• Recommend courses of action for internal and external Government research collaborations
• Coordinate, prepare, and maintain laboratory supplies, materials, and equipment
• Present research projects at technical meetings and conferences
• Prepare presentations and written documents summarizing research efforts

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related Physical Science field
• 5+ years of relevant experience (exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered)
• Experience working in a research environment (educational experience is allowable)
• Experience in technical writing, including proposals, reports, program summaries, and journal publications
• U.S. citizenship is required
• Active Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain one
