About the role
Responsibilities
- Use handheld computers and inventory logs to count supplies, perform data entry, and create orders
- Receive, unpack, and verify shipments, entering all receipts into the Materials Management system
- Deliver packages and medical gas tanks to requesting departments, ensuring signatures are obtained
- Maintain inventory levels in patient care areas and ancillary departments
- Process and deliver common carrier and prime vendor packages
- Organize and label supply carts and maintain orderly storage rooms
- Prepare and stage returns and manage warehouse/dock communications
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to lift 50 lbs of free-weight and/or push 450 lbs on wheels for short distances
- Basic mathematical and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with personal computers; experience with handheld computers preferred
- Ability to prioritize assignments and work without direct supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful setting while providing excellent customer service
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of inventory management principles and receiving processes
- Experience working with disposable hospital supplies
