Material Program Manager

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement material strategies for specific projects or programs
• Create and maintain material delivery schedules aligned with project milestones
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance
• Negotiate contracts and secure materials in a timely manner
• Manage the material budget and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Proactively identify risks related to material shortages and implement mitigation strategies
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project management teams
• Monitor supply chain performance and track key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in Aerospace manufacturing operations
• Proven experience negotiating subcontracts with large spend suppliers (>$500,000 USD)
• Proficiency in ERP systems such as Infor LN, SAP, or Oracle
• Strong knowledge of procurement, supplier management, and material logistics
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Defense contract manufacturing experience
• Global supply chain experience
• Experience sourcing composites, small gasoline engines, or avionics
• Established relationships with distributors like Arrow, Avnet, or TTI
