About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize the end-to-end material planning process to ensure on-time availability of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Review MRP system daily for actions, validate output accuracy, and initiate corrective actions for discrepancies.
  • Maintain key planning parameters within the MRP system, including lead times and planning strategies, to ensure data integrity.
  • Analyze and process purchase requisitions and fulfill work orders across multiple projects to meet the Master Production Schedule.
  • Develop and execute material planning strategies to meet production requirements while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
  • Proactively manage exceptions such as material delays, changes, or substitutes, and communicate risks to management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project timelines, supply chain objectives, and execution strategies.
  • Support key operational metrics including MRP data integrity, PO meeting manufacturing need dates, and master schedule attainment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience, OR
  • Graduate Degree and minimum 2 years of prior related experience, OR
  • 8 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically with large data sets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the SIOP process and manufacturing capacity planning.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP and ERP systems (SAP experience is a plus).
  • Six Sigma, Lean, or APICS certifications (CPIM certification highly desired).
  • Experience in defense program planning.
