About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize the end-to-end material planning process to ensure on-time availability of raw materials and finished goods.
- Review MRP system daily for actions, validate output accuracy, and initiate corrective actions for discrepancies.
- Maintain key planning parameters within the MRP system, including lead times and planning strategies, to ensure data integrity.
- Analyze and process purchase requisitions and fulfill work orders across multiple projects to meet the Master Production Schedule.
- Develop and execute material planning strategies to meet production requirements while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Proactively manage exceptions such as material delays, changes, or substitutes, and communicate risks to management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project timelines, supply chain objectives, and execution strategies.
- Support key operational metrics including MRP data integrity, PO meeting manufacturing need dates, and master schedule attainment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience, OR
- Graduate Degree and minimum 2 years of prior related experience, OR
- 8 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically with large data sets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the SIOP process and manufacturing capacity planning.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of MRP and ERP systems (SAP experience is a plus).
- Six Sigma, Lean, or APICS certifications (CPIM certification highly desired).
- Experience in defense program planning.
