Material Planning Manager

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute material plans to support production schedules and customer demand
• Ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and subassemblies
• Monitor and optimize inventory levels to balance service levels and cash flow
• Translate production schedules into accurate material requirements using MRP/ERP systems
• Identify and mitigate material constraints, shortages, and risks to production continuity
• Partner with Procurement and Material Program Managers to manage lead times and capacity
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy and efficiency
• Prepare and present material planning metrics and mitigation plans to leadership

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in material planning, supply chain, or manufacturing operations
• 5+ years of people management or team leadership experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or Engineering
• Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics)
• Experience in a manufacturing or regulated production environment
• Experience with S&OP / IBP processes
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree
• Professional certification (CPIM, CSCP, PMP)
• Background in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
