Material Planner

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule production materials to ensure 100% on-time delivery within a JIT/JIS system
• Manage inventory levels, storage areas, and material presentation using FIFO controls
• Oversee receiving activities, perform quality checks, and maintain dock scheduling
• Serve as the primary contact for customer requirements and handle supplier complaints
• Train and monitor team members on logistics procedures, IT applications, and scanner systems
• Participate in quality audits and support continuous improvement initiatives (8D, 5-Why)
• Uphold safety standards and compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements

Requirements

• Grade 12 or OSSD required
• 3+ years of experience in materials or production planning within a manufacturing environment
• Proven experience in JIT/JIS supply chains
• Working knowledge of SAP and MRO
• Strong problem-solving skills using methodologies such as 8D or 5-Why
• Fluency in English (written and verbal)
• Ability to work onsite in a fast-paced, non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing and bending

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in a related field
• APICS or PMAC training
• Tier-1 automotive manufacturing experience
• Familiarity with Chrysler-based material flow or Mopar Service Requirements
