Material Planner

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize the end-to-end material planning process to ensure on-time availability of raw materials and finished goods.
• Review MRP system daily for actions, validate output accuracy, and initiate corrective actions for discrepancies.
• Maintain key planning parameters within the MRP system, including lead times and planning strategies, to ensure data integrity.
• Analyze and process purchase requisitions to fulfill orders across multiple projects in a timely manner.
• Develop and execute material planning strategies to meet production requirements while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
• Proactively manage exceptions such as material delays, changes, or substitutes, and communicate risks to management.
• Support site operational metrics, including MRP usage, data integrity, and work order/kitting execution.
• Expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments to meet project schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience, OR
• Graduate Degree and minimum 2 years of prior related experience, OR
• Minimum of 8 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Proficiency in MRP systems.
• Strong data analysis skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Bill of Material (BOM) in straight-line or indented structures.
• Familiarity with Government Furnished Materials (GFM) control.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or other statistical software.
• Experience with Cost Point and TIPQA.
