Material Manager

Responsibilities

• Develop and direct the material management team, including both craft and staff personnel
• Implement and maintain policies and procedures for material control
• Oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of project materials
• Manage financial planning, projections, delivery schedules, and material management reporting
• Supervise project support functions such as site security, temporary fencing, and trailer setup
• Manage large project mobilization and demobilization processes
• Represent the company in negotiations and coordination with suppliers
• Ensure project-specific safety plans are followed by the material management group

Requirements

• BA degree and/or eight plus years of experience in power or industrial construction
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all material management functions
• Working knowledge of site purchasing, execution, and estimating
• Proven ability to lead others and manage complex processes
• Experience tracking equipment, materials, labor budgets, trends, and forecasts
• Ability to relocate for long-term and short-term field assignments as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in large-scale heavy construction projects
• Ability to gain buy-in cross-functionally and organizationally at all levels
• Strong leadership, coaching, and training skills for purchasing and material control staff
