About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist walk-in customers with product inquiries, recommendations, and order processing
- Enter, pick, and pack sales orders generated at the counter
- Promote products and generate leads for the Outside Account Manager
- Process returns and follow up on backorders
- Pick, pack, and ship customer orders accurately
- Receive, verify, and put away incoming vendor shipments and returns
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety standards
- Document shipping discrepancies and notify supervisors of inventory issues
Requirements
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service or counter sales
- Ability to operate forklifts and material handling equipment
- Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy materials safely
- Strong computer skills for order entry and inventory management
- Intermediate math skills and high attention to detail
- Knowledge of warehouse health and safety regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with HVAC and building products
- Proficiency with Trend, Eclipse, Word, Excel, and Outlook
