Material Handler

Responsibilities

• Perform manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, and delivering materials and equipment
• Count, weigh, or measure incoming and outgoing items to verify against bills of lading, invoices, and orders
• Examine incoming shipments for damage or shortages and coordinate with shippers to rectify issues
• Complete necessary paperwork and documentation for shipping and receiving processes
• Prepare materials for shipment by weighing, packaging, and stamping
• Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or dollies to move stock and reorganize storage

Requirements

• Ability to perform work under direct supervision
• Basic problem-solving skills with the ability to refer complex issues to higher-level staff
• Working knowledge of material handling subject matter

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating a double fork forklift
