Material Handler

Responsibilities

• Safely handle all material needed in the fabrication department
• Identify, label, and store materials in appropriate storage areas
• Inspect materials for damage or defects and report discrepancies
• Maintain accurate records of materials received and distributed
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions for assignments
• Examine forklifts daily and complete checklists
• Communicate with supervisors regarding inventory
• Sort materials or objects for processing or transport

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Forklift certification
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds
• Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, or crouch for 8-10 hour shifts
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing or construction environment
