Material Handler II

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move materials within the plant, yard, or work site using manual labor or equipment.
• Read work orders and follow oral instructions to identify specific materials or containers to be moved.
• Load materials into vehicles and install necessary strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent damage during transit.
• Count, weigh, and record the number of units handled on daily production sheets.
• Attach identifying tags or labels to materials and mark information on containers.
• Stack or assemble materials into bundles and secure them as required.
• Operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in moving products and materials.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including machines and equipment.

Requirements

• High School level education.
• 1-3 years of related experience in material handling or warehouse operations.
• Valid forklift operator’s license.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds.
• Proficiency in reading and writing English to comprehend instructions and correspondence.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and the ability to follow technical drawings or manuals.
